Black Tie Affair Handspun Yarn

Soft luxury in honor of the New Year! Silky soft black baby alpaca fiber that I spun with a vintage red rayon embroidery thread. I alternated between making knotty bumps (some pulled out to show detail in the bottom photo, in the loops below the main skein) in the yarn and wrapping it with colorful slubs of recycled sari silk waste. This yarn is soft and heavy, with great drape. It would trim a shawl nicely, make a nice collar or a macrame or knit belt.
