Garden Harvest

A complex 2 ply yarn, spun from a drum carded batt I made from a mix of animal and vegetable fibers, and spun up into this incredible, soft art yarn that is warm, earthy, glistening and evocative of all things fall.
The batt contained Cotswold lamb locks (garden colorway by Hollyeqq), peachy orange alpaca-merino-mohair blend (by Northstaralpacas), rose and brown bamboo and lemon yellow angelina. As I spun, I added cocoons of gold iris angelina, sections of rosy pink silk waste, wraps of forest green silk gauze fabric and commercial novelty yarn bits. I plied it with a vintage peach yarn (linen?).

• 2 ply art yarn
• 80 yards
• about 5.2 ounces (not quite dry, will verify weight)
• very bulky and irregular, average 4-6 wpi
• use big needles US 13 and up
